The Global Centre for Indic Studies (GCIS), an initiative of Aarogyam UK CIC, is proud to announce its participation in this year’s Oxford Symposium on Literature & Culture, to be held at Harris Manchester College, University of Oxford, 8–10 December 2025.
At this year’s symposium, GCIS will bring together voices that reflect the living continuum of Indic knowledge and its dialogue with the global academic and cultural landscape. Four distinguished experts from India will represent GCIS and share their ongoing collaborative programmes, integrative learning models, and cross-disciplinary initiatives that unite tradition, research, and global education.
Reclaiming and Reframing Indic Knowledge for a Global Future
The Global Centre for Indic Studies was founded to create a bridge between Indic thought systems and contemporary global discourse, exploring intersections across philosophy, literature, health, and culture. As part of Aarogyam UK CIC’s integrative research ecosystem, GCIS is dedicated to restoring context to Indic studies — moving beyond static representation to living scholarship that engages with the world’s most urgent questions on humanity, well-being, and sustainability.
The participation of GCIS at Oxford signifies not only an academic achievement but a cultural statement: that Indic knowledge has a rightful and vital place in global intellectual conversations.
India on the Global Stage
The four experts representing GCIS will present a series of thought-provoking perspectives and collaborative models that extend across education, culture, and public health. Their contributions will highlight how India’s classical and modern knowledge systems continue to inform contemporary dialogue on ethics, creativity, and human development.
Through papers, dialogues, and global collaborations, they will showcase how Indic perspectives are being integrated into programmes that combine cultural literacy with real-world application — from heritage studies and consciousness research to integrative community education.
A Collective Step Forward
This representation at Oxford is a proud moment not just for the Global Centre for Indic Studies, but for the wider Aarogyam network and its international collaborators. It reinforces Aarogyam UK’s mission to unite academia, community, and culture in building a framework of holistic, inclusive, and globally relevant education.
By taking Indic voices to a global platform, GCIS is reaffirming its vision: to make ancient insight accessible, relevant, and transformative in modern times. “We are not just taking Indic studies to the world — we are bringing the world back to the timeless wisdom of the Indic.”
To our partners, mentors, and collaborators across India and the UK, we thank you for being part of this continuing dialogue. Together, we are expanding the scope of Indic studies from archives to action — from heritage to horizon.
